How Academic Institutions are Meeting Today's Cyber Challenges

Please join us in the Forrestal Auditorium on Thursday, June 23 (12:00pm-1:00pm) for the DOE Cyber Distinguished Speaker Series featuring a panel of leading cyber researchers and practitioners from some of the region’s finest universities. Whether through cyber research studies, grants, or “Scholarship for Service” programs, our local colleges and universities are remaining ahead of the curve by molding the next generation cyber workforce. Cyber professionals will be in high demand well into the foreseeable future, and partnering education with the federal government is imperative to the future of cyber. Learn how these panelists are meeting future cyber challenges at enterprise, national, and global levels.

Cyber Distinguished Speaker Series Background and Information

The DOE Cyber Distinguished Speaker Series brings internationally renowned cyber experts from government and private industry to the Department as featured speakers in this OCIO-sponsored series. Past speakers include Dr. Gregg Shannon, Assistant Director for Cyber Security Strategy at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; Adrian Cockroft, Technology Fellow for Battery Ventures L.P; and Evan Wolff, Privacy & Cybersecurity Lead and Partner at Crowell & Moring; and Eric Sporre, Deputy Assistant Director, Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Cybersecurity and information resource professionals are encouraged to attend, as well as interested DOE employees and contractors, including those located at our Program Offices, Power Marketing Administrations, Field Sites, and National Laboratories.
